I am passionate about mental health and well-being.
Whether that is within one’s personal life, within the workplace, or of the individual in their job roles.
I have been lucky enough to have been in business for some 30 years both working solo and as an employer, I have also had the privilege of working for some of the most excellent small businesses in a corporate capacity.
One of the biggest takeaways for me was understanding the importance of being able to address the work-life balance to ensure personal growth, productivity, and income generation. To manage emotional well being and to be able to create professional relationships.
I have always been fascinated by the psychology of interaction, communication, and decision-making. This has led me down some interesting paths from dealing with some amazing people, developing the ability to think on my feet, and adapting to change, to creating and delivering training packages for managers, leaders, and employees across a broad spectrum of roles from call centre workers or retail staff to small business owners or executives and health service providers.
It’s important to treat people the way they want to be treated.
The results were always vastly improved when mindful management of the situation took center stage paying attention to compassion and inclusion- even when delivering the toughest of training sessions or having the most courageous conversations.
So, it seemed a natural next step a few years ago, to study Life Coaching which supported my values in how people want to be treated, and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) which gave me the tools to help people help themselves.
I have worked with people through some of the hardest life-changing circumstances from the most anxious, depressed, or bereaved to the most confident and dynamic. No one is immune to occasional periods of overwhelm or dismay when life throws you a curve ball. Sometimes even well people want to be better and greater than they already are.
My interest in varying results in therapies drove me to explore further, the world of neuroscience and solution-focused rather than problem-focused therapies.
This is when I discovered Solution Brief Therapy and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. So, I embarked on my HPD level 4 as part of my Continuing Professional Development.
I am proud to have been a student of the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School which offers what is considered to be the gold standard of training in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, and I am equally proud to have graduated from this school in 2023 as a fully qualified Clinical, Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist and therefore adding an additional service to my existing private practice.
